IRON DAMES SECURE THIRD CONSECUTIVE ELMS POLE POSITION AT IMOLA

Iron Dame Sarah Bovy delivered a flawless performance in Qualifying for Round Three of the 2024 European Le Mans Series by securing a dominant pole position in a highly competitive LMGT3 category.

Racing at the Imola Circuit in the Emilia-Romagna region of Italy, Sarah’s pole position marked Iron Dames’ third consecutive in the championship, while also signalling her return to the cockpit after missing the Spa 24 Hours following an accident at the Six Hours of Watkins Glen in the IMSA Sportscar Championship.

Sarah showed clear pace as soon as Qualifying got underway, and after placing inside the top five in her first run, she was a consistent threat to the top three. In her penultimate push lap, she fell only 0.081 seconds short of provisional pole position, but pushed hard in her final run, producing a 1:43.459 lap to claim pole by 0.127 seconds.

The Four Hours of Imola, will take place on Sunday 7 July 2024, starting at 11:30 CET.

I’m super happy to be back in pole position in ELMS. Every little point we can score is going to be important for our championship and personally, it feels great to confirm that I am fit to drive the car fast. I can’t wait to be at the start tomorrow with Michelle [Gatting] and Rahel [Frey] to try and go after the good result we have been chasing for too long.
