A BATTLE OF SURVIVAL AT SEBRING

As the 2025 IMSA season resumed stateside, the Iron Dames trio of Sarah Bovy, Michelle Gatting and Rahel Frey tackled the gruelling 12 Hours of Sebring.

Michelle Gatting got the 12-hour race underway from 11th in the Iron Dames Porsche 911 GT3 R, and was able to maintain position on the first lap. After 30 minutes of running, she was ninth in GTD and just five seconds off the class lead.

Rahel Frey and Sarah Bovy then took their turns behind the wheel, navigating multiple Full Course Yellow and Safety Car periods. The trio battled fiercely on the fringes of the top 10 throughout the daylight hours of the contest, with the brutal circuit taking its toll on the drivers and car.

With three hours to go, the sun beginning to set and a FCY in effect, it was Sarah in the car still holding on to 11th. As the circuit was plunged into darkness, Michelle took the reigns for the final stints to bring the car home. Gatting gave it everything in the final hour, eventually crossing the line 11th.

RESULTS

Sarah, Michelle and Rahel: 11th (GTD)

It was an intense race at Sebring. We gave it everything we had and fought hard for the entire 12 hours. The team did an amazing job as always. We just didn’t have the pace to fight at the front, but we never give up and will only come back stronger!
