As part of the IMSA season-concluding Petit le Mans event, the Iron Dames are honoured to make a significant contribution to the fight against paediatric cancer by supporting the Austin Hatcher Foundation in its vital mission to provide high quality support to affected children and their families. In a special moment in their garage at Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta, Iron Dames Project Manager Rahel Frey presented Amy Jo Osborn, CEO and Founder of the Austin Hatcher Foundation, with the ‘Every Dream Matters’ 2024 Le Mans 24 Hours suit she wore during the race itself.
The IMSA community has partnered with the Foundation for 15 years and this donation comes in conjunction with the Foundation’s new Petit Le Mans campaign, ‘Drive Together: Because Families Matter’. The campaign seeks to raise awareness and crucial funds for the Foundation’s work and the race-worn suit will be featured in a silent auction held at the official IMSA merchandise tent during the Petit Le Mans weekend. Fans and supporters are encouraged to visit the auction and bid on this unique piece of motorsport history, with all proceeds benefiting the Austin Hatcher Foundation.
The Austin Hatcher Foundation, founded by Dr. James and Amy Jo Osborn in 2006 following the loss of their son Austin Hatcher has long been a lifeline for families navigating the difficult road of paediatric cancer. The foundation provides holistic care that addresses the emotional, financial and physical needs of children undergoing treatment and their families, ensuring that they all receive top-tier support, regardless of their financial situation.
Additionally, the Foundation will host over 200 paediatric cancer patients, survivors and their families in a trackside chalet on the pit straight during Saturday’s race. The Iron Dames, together with other drivers, are committed to making this day extra special for the young fighters and their families, offering them a memorable experience at the heart of the action and further demonstrating the solidarity within the racing community.
Whether through donations, participation in the silent auction, or spreading the message, every bit of support helps to strengthen families impacted by paediatric cancer. For those unable to attend the event, the Iron Dames IMSA trio of Rahel, Michelle Gatting and Sarah Bovy recorded a special video message, to ensure that everybody was included and shown support.
The Iron Dames are proud to be part of this significant campaign. We believe that every dream matters, and we’re honoured to stand with the Austin Hatcher Foundation in support of children and families who need it most. The work of the Foundation is truly inspiring, and we encourage everyone to take part in helping these families.
For those unable to attend the event, donations can be made directly to the Austin Hatcher Foundation through their official website or the campaign’s page.
