IRON DAMES WELCOMES MERCEDES-AMG F1 JUNIOR DRIVER LUNA FLUXA TO ITS RANKS

IRON DAMES WELCOMES MERCEDES-AMG F1 JUNIOR DRIVER LUNA FLUXA TO ITS RANKS

Iron Dames is thrilled to announce that Luna Fluxa, a highly promising young talent and current Junior Driver for the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One Team, is joining the project. This exciting development marks Luna as the 21st athlete to become a member of Iron Dames, furthering the project’s commitment to supporting and empowering female talent in sport.

As a part of the Iron Dames Young Talents programme, Luna will benefit from the unique environment and resources provided by Iron Dames. She will be able to build on the momentum of the project and become part of a close-knit, competitive group of athletes who are striving for excellence and outstanding performance. She will also continue to receive the full support of the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team. This collaboration represents a unique opportunity to draw on the strengths of both organisations to further develop her career and help her realise her full potential as she climbs the motorsport ladder.

Luna was born in Spain in 2010 and joined the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS F1 Team’s Junior Programme in 2022, after impressing in her initial seasons racing in karts and showing encouraging signs of a driver on the rise. She started racing in 2017 and has been travelling around Europe competing in various series since 2019.

She got her introduction to racing attending the ‘programa mujer y motor’, a series introduced by the Spanish Automobile Federation to attract more females to motorsport. She then rose through the Spanish karting ranks in the Alevin class, before moving up to larger WSK and IAME Euro Series events, consistently reaching the finals. In 2021, the Spanish-British racer focused on 60 Mini racing and also won the IAME Euro Series in X30 Mini. She stepped up to OK Junior in 2022 and after a good year of development and remained in the category for 2023 where she made further progress.

In 2024, Luna moved up to the OK class and has been competing in the FIA World and European Championships – where she has consistently been battling within the top 10. She’s also been racing in the Champions of the Future and Champions of the Future Academy series – and in the latter, she leads the standings after the first three rounds, having taken various wins and podiums.

Iron Dames is more than just a racing team, it’s a movement dedicated to promoting the presence of women in sport at all levels. Luna’s passion, determination and attitude perfectly matches the values of the Iron Dames, making her a natural fit for the project. By wearing our colours, she will be a source of inspiration for young girls who are attracted to motorsport and for whom karting is the gateway to their dreams.

I am super excited and grateful to join the Iron Dames Family. This project is so inspiring to me. Being part of this great group of female athletes performing at the highest level means a lot to me. Having the support of both Mercedes-AMG F1 team and Iron Dames is the perfect mix to continue my development. I can’t wait to fly both colours on track.
